RapidTimelapse, a free LRTimelapse alternative for RapidRAW

Free and open source. Keyframe your edits in RapidRAW and RapidTimelapse smooths them across every frame. Some users call it the LRTimelapse for Linux.

RapidTimelapse is a free, open-source app that works alongside RapidRAW, the open-source alternative to Adobe Lightroom.

Like LRTimelapse, it edits RapidRAW’s sidecar files rather than Lightroom’s. You set your look on a few keyframes, RapidTimelapse interpolates every frame in between, and you export a smooth, flicker-free sequence ready to turn into video.

I built it, with help from Claude, because I wanted my own timelapse workflow on Linux. If you’ve used LRTimelapse, it will feel right at home. Watch the demo on my YouTube channel before you start to get familiar with the workflow.

Version 1.0 beta was released on 20 September 2026, with plenty more planned. Happy timelapsing!
