The bright core of the Milky Way is visible from roughly March to September, best on moonless nights. Star trails and winter constellations can be shot all year round.
What do I need to bring?
A camera with manual controls, a wide lens if you have one, a sturdy tripod, warm clothes and a head torch with a red-light mode.
